Sullivan Boecker (b. 1993) is a composer, percussionist, and active member of the new music community. Originally from Cleveland, Sullivan recently received his BM in Music Composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he studied with Mara Helmuth, Michael Fiday, and Miguel Roig-Francoli. While in Cincinnati, Sullivan participated in performing and curating new works by Cincinnati composers. He was a co-Artistic Director of the Red Door New Music Series, an in-home concert series showcasing new music of the past 15 years. Sullivan has had music performed by Sō Percussion, the CCM Percussion Ensemble, All of the Above, the Hocta Quartet, Kneeplay, and various other ensembles and performers. He has had the opportunity to work with groups such as Hypercube, JACK Quartet, Sō Percussion, and the Freya String Quartet. Sullivan has worked with dancers and choreographers as a part of the Charlotte New Music Festival and with the Interactive Sonic Dance (ISD) Research Project, where he worked as a research assistant. ISD was presented at SEAMUS in 2015. Sullivan currently resides in Cleveland.
